Many people out there have bad things to say about network marketing, based either on hearsay or their own unfortunate experiences. However, I believe that if only they knew what we, the professionals of the industry, know, they'd start thinking, speaking and feeling differently.
In addition, in the words of a very successful leader, who achieved a 6-figure monthly income within 3-4 years, they might discover in network marketing what they've always been seeking all these years. He said: "Don't say 'No' to something you don't know much about, yet. How do you know it's not what you've been looking for all these years?"
Here, I'd like to share an article I contributed to the industry-defining book, "It's Time .. For Network Marketing". The book, published in 2007, was edited by John Milton Fogg, author of another, earlier network marketing classic, The Greatest Networker In The World. One good example of how we uplift people...
Consider the case of Muhammad Faizal bin Kasiran who just over a year ago was a faceless, voiceless, neither seen nor heard, paper-pushing civil servant.
Now, he is a leader with a significant result, rank and achievement, able to stand in front of crowds in the hundreds or thousands, touching, moving and inpsiring people with the story of his transformation.
Just last Saturday, on 14 May 2011, Faizal addressed a 10,000 pax hall in Bitec, Bangna, Bangkok, sharing how his life has changed with The Happy Life Project.
Before, he had taken 10 years to earn 2 promotions. With a steady, "not bad" 5-10% annual increment, his salary doubled .. but from S$1k to S$2k. In Unicity, within 8 months of making the decision to take the business seriously, he achieved 5 promotions, from Level 1 distributor to Manager, then Senior Manager, Executive Manager, Director and now Senior Director. With every rank advancement, he gets a 4-figure increment!
The amazing thing about Faizal is his new picture of humility, whereas in the past, by self-admission, he had a big ego and had unflattering thoughts about what we do in The Happy Life Project and the Bios Life Franchise.
What turned him around? Going to the ATM to get some small change and finding out that he didn't even have S$20 to his name. It was then that he realized his ego was far bgger than his bank account. He learnt that for his bank balance to grow, he had to let go of his ego. That he did, after wasting some months.
Faizal's most quotable quote: "Every morning, we are faced with two choices. Continue to sleep and dream on, or wake up to chase your Dreams. I am glad I woke up."
